Earth Day 4.22.2012 is quickly approaching!  I nearly forgot what month I was in after my week of finals...I am in a hazy daze!! I am so glad that week is over; crazy long finals, work was nuts (thank goodness it is part time) and my son must have been in a mood too! HOWEVER, yes I am excited, I received A's in all my classes for the quarter.  Okay back to the real center piece of this post the Earth.....not my little ol' A's! Hahaha...

Earth Day is a great day to remember our impact on our planet however we need to make everyday an Earth Day to reduce our impact on the resources that sustain our lives.

I love pictures of the planet...I get all wishy washy and misty eyed.

eCycling Event and Free Concert

The City of Litchfield Park and Waste Management have joined forces to honor Earth Day! On Friday, April 20th, the Thaddeus Rose Band will be performing the final concert of Litchfield Park’s Tenth Season of Arts in the Park Live. It will be held on the front lawn of The Wigwam from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. that evening. This free concert is being sponsored by Waste Management.

Didn't find an event in your state? Make an event of your own.  Invite family and friends for a non-electronic fun filled day.  Yes you heard me, no television, no video games, maybe just a radio if you must...but that is it I tell you (heehee). 

Get yourself some locally grown in season organic food prepare a vegetarian delish dish (vegetarian has less impact on planet you can do it for one day I swear). If you plan on using disposable plates and cutlery, go for biodegradable or recyclable ones to prevent unnecessary trash

Plan some fun family events like: horse shoe toss, bean bag toss, charades, monopoly...whatever interests your family that doesn't include turning on the television, Xbox, Wii or computer.  You will survive one day without electronics promise.
